Celebrate with us during this special night
as we hear from the many voices who make up the arts!
Join TeamWomen, Twin Cities Film Fest and Christina Twomey for a special night to celebrate empowered women in arts and entertainment! Enjoy the chance to view art displays by notable female artists. Then, we’ll dive into a panel discussion called “Women in Arts and Entertainment,” where we’ll discuss how art has the capacity to move beyond private collections and museums to the public while changing hearts and minds around issues that matter. A screening of 3 women-directed short films and filmmaker panel will follow.

In the days of the Great Depression, a disfiguring factory accident and a miserable home life compel Violet Mathers to leave Kentucky for San Francisco. Her plan: to be the second suicide off the Golden Gate Bridge. Now in her senior years, Violet reflects on her rescue by two musicians — one white and one black — whose invitation into their rollicking, anything’s possible world she accepted, giving her a life vivid with song, love, and the occasional miracle. Screenplay by renowned author Lorna Landvik, based on her novel of the same name.
