As a premier non-profit organization, TeamWomen’s mission is deeply rooted in nurturing future generations of women in leadership roles. Our diverse membership of over 600 women, ranging from those in C-suite positions to young professionals, spans a wide array of industries, including business, corporate sectors, sports, and civic organizations.
At TeamWomen, our core focus is to inspire women to form meaningful connections and rise together. We achieve this through a series of 40 leadership development events each year, our TeamWomen Mentor Program, and Empower Leadership Academies.
2024 marks a significant milestone for us as we celebrate the 13th year of our Annual Leadership Conference on May 8th at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. This event has become a cornerstone for hundreds of professional women who gather to hear inspiring stories from influential women leaders. It’s an opportunity to create genuine connections and grow both personally and professionally. The conference acts as a catalyst for attendees, motivating them to step into their power and elevate their careers.
We’re excited to announce that Candace Doby will be gracing our stage this year! Get ready to be motivated by her to embrace courage in the workplace, take bold risks, and fully own your brilliance. Candace believes that the key to an organization’s peak performance lies in its people – especially when they confidently harness their talents, even during challenging or transitional periods. In her enlightening presentation on leadership development, she will guide participants through a strategic process to overcome fear, ignite personal courage, and engage in meaningful risks. This is all about unlocking your full potential to make a significant impact in your organization.
Candace is the founder of The Can-Do Company. She is a leadership development strategist, author of “A Cool Girl’s Guide To Courage,” and professional speaker who works with organizations to create a culture of courage where employees spend less time and energy censoring and hiding themselves and more time performing at their highest potential.
Candace combines a decade of research on courage with her experiences traveling the world solo and a 16-year, award-winning marketing career — much of which was spent leading teams at Chipotle. This unique combination equips her with implementable strategies she has shared with thousands of leaders to help them courageously speak up, step up, and show up in the workplace.
She is known for delivering those strategies with a blend of truth, love, and a bit of attitude to match the realness of courage, which prompts clients to refer to her in-person and virtual presence as “captivating.” She has worked with organizations such as The Timken Company, International Interior Design Association, Duracell, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, American Camp Association, and many others. Her work has been featured on MSNBC, NPR, and TEDx. Candace is the creator of The Courage Hotline podcast, host of The Own Your Brilliance retreat, and the owner of Pep Talker greeting cards, available online and in select stores.
Candace holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a master’s degree in Technology and Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also ran track.
