Position Description

Join TeamWomen, a non-profit dedicated to holistic leadership development for women and girls, as we expand our Empower Leadership Academy team! We’re searching for dynamic youth leadership coaches to contribute their experience and passion.

As an organization committed to empowering women and girls, we inspire, develop, and empower leaders through various programs and workshops, hosting nearly 60 events annually. Our focus is on building leadership skills, instilling confidence, and enhancing resilience.

We are currently hiring experienced leadership development coaches to facilitate our interactive Empower Leadership Academy curriculum for youth in grades 5-12, with a primary emphasis on empowering young girls. The academies, held during the summer months, offer a three-hour immersive experience, and we conduct 16 sessions annually.

Head Coach Expectations:

Curriculum Mastery:

– Understand and proficiently facilitate the entire curriculum, collaborating with your assistant coach.

– Connect with the Program Manager or client via call to comprehend the audience and specific learning objectives.

– Agenda and Presentation:

– Choose an appropriate ELA pre-set agenda template (1.0, 2.0) and modify it for the new group.

– Update one of ELA’s pre-set PowerPoints and tailor it as necessary.

– Complete pre-academy hand-out checklist and ensure the printing of required documents.

Interactive Leadership:

– Lead wellness and other interactive activities with enthusiasm.

– Embody the TeamWomen culture of inclusivity and foster a sense of belonging among participants.

Event Management:

– Review rules of engagement and any venue-specific procedures.

– Keep the event on time and adhere to the agenda.

– Review logistics and important background information with the Program Manager before the event.

 

Desired Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:

Educational Background:

– Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, youth development, or a related field.

Experience:

– Relevant experience working with youth, preferably in a coaching, mentoring, or teaching capacity.

– Experience in youth leadership development programs.

Communication Skills:

– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

– Ability to communicate effectively with young people and their parents or guardians.

Leadership Skills:

– Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate young individuals.

– Experience in facilitating group activities and discussions.

Knowledge of Youth Development:

– Understanding of child and adolescent development.

– Knowledge of age-appropriate leadership concepts and strategies.

Cultural Competence:

– Cultural sensitivity and awareness to work effectively with a diverse group of students and families.

Program Development:

– Ability to develop and implement youth leadership programs or activities.

– Creativity in designing engaging and impactful leadership experiences.

– High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Background Check:

– Depending on the organization and local regulations, a clear background check may be required.
