What we need…

Safe Basements is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the manufacturing and supply chain operations and practices to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products to our growing network of contractors.

What you’d do…
Manufacturing/Operations Leadership

– Lead and manage the manufacturing and metal fabrication operations to ensure the production of high-quality basement waterproofing, foundation repair, crawl space repair, and concrete leveling systems.
-Implement and enforce GMP in manufacturing processes, quality control, and efficiency improvements, utilizing lean manufacturing and production/warehouse are optimization practices, i.e. 5S, hour by hour production tracking, etc.
-Collaborate with SBI Business Development team to drive innovation and continuous improvement and development of new products and services to support and grow its dealer network.
-Lead team consisting of Engineering, Production and Warehouse staff. Develop staff through on-going cross-training and skill enhancement programs.


Supply Chain Management:

-Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies to optimize warehouse space, inventory levels, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
-Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of raw materials.
-Monitor and analyze market trends to proactively address potential supply chain challenges and opportunities.

Quality Assurance:

-Implement and oversee robust quality control processes to maintain the highest standards in product reliability.
-Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify and address any product-related issues promptly.
-Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives across the manufacturing and supply chain functions.

Team Leadership:

-Build and lead a high-performing team of manufacturing and supply chain professionals.
-Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.

Cost Management:

-Implement cost-effective strategies in manufacturing and supply chain operations to maximize profitability.
-Collaborate with finance and other relevant departments to develop and manage budgets effectively.
-Work closely with CFO to build annual CAPEX plan to replace or acquire critical, mission essential assets to drive growth.
-Establish highly disciplined maintenance management program (MMP) to ensure timely completion of preventative maintenance and tracking of demand maintenance by manufacturing equipment type. This would include maintaining critical spare parts and priority parts supplier relationships.

Regulatory Compliance:

-Ensure that all manufacturing and supply chain activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
-Acts as the lead Safety manager, must be able to communicate safety procedures and hazards to different departments and groups of workers easily and understandably.
-Stay updated on changes in regulations and work towards continuous improvement to meet or exceed compliance requirements.

What you’d need…

– Proven experience in a leadership role within manufacturing/metal fabrication and supply chain management, preferably in the construction, building materials industry or metal works operations.
– Familiar with CNC machining, manual machining, and welding operations to deliver uniform consistent, high-quality results.
– Strong understanding of quality management systems and best practices.
– Experience successfully scaling operations during periods of expansion and high growth.
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
– Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team toward achieving operational excellence.
– Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
– Competence with using MRP and WMS systems, while insuring all standard operating procedures are fully documented and updated on a continual basis.
