Social Media Director

REPORTS TO:  Director of Diversity in Business – Business Growth & Delivery Strategy

JOB SUMMARY

The Social Media Director will lead, develop, and execute effective social media management and engagement strategies to measurably increase our social media impact and build a positive brand image across all social media platforms, with a specific focus on increasing our presence and visibility in underserved markets and measurably increasing access to banking services and capital to the fastest growing small business sectors: women and minority-owned businesses. The motivated Social Media Director will oversee day-to-day management and deployment of our social media team and our social media networking, campaigns and cadence and content of messaging to ensure interest, excitement, engagement, and impactful brand positioning, media relations, content, growth marketing, and go-to-market business strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Develop and execute a social media strategy that aligns with Stearns Bank’s brand identity and marketing goals to propel our business growth, particularly in growing diversity in business and increasing our ability and effectiveness to better meet the banking service and financing needs of women and minority-owned businesses.
      •  Develop and achieve data-driven metrics of success in expanding our social media presence and effective brand marketing to meet Stearns Bank’s business growth, increase diversity in business, and expand access to banking services and capital for underserved entrepreneurs.   
      • Responsible for overseeing and guiding leadership team social media impact and the leadership team’s social media presence, impact, output, and performance.
      • Ability to edit and write in multiple voices, from newsy/informative to humorous and lighthearted – able to tailor messaging to platform in line with organization’s branding.
      • Partner with Stearns Bank Advisory board to expand our diverse networks, build new partnerships, and develop effective messaging and delivery of banking services to diverse and emerging entrepreneurs.   
      • Hire and manage energetic, inspired, and skilled social media team members to effectively executive our social media strategies to achieve measurable growth in Stearns Bank’s brand visibility and business.
      • Create compelling, visually appealing, and shareable content across various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
      • Schedule and post content across social channels; manage a weekly and monthly content calendar.
      • Oversee day-to-day management of social media campaigns and ensure brand consistency.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute captivating social media campaigns.
      • Stay at the forefront of social media trends and emerging platforms and incorporate them into our strategy to maintain a competitive edge.
      • Monitor social media channels for customer feedback, questions, and comments, and respond promptly and professionally.
      • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide regular reports to showcase the impact of the creative campaigns and provide insight for future optimization.
      • Loss prevention and security as applicable for this position.
      • Performs related work as required.
      • Maintain a working knowledge of all legal and regulatory compliance issues as they pertain to this position.
      • Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

      • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
      • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
      • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear.
      • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

        • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or similar from an accredited school; 3+ years’ experience in social media strategy; or equivalent experience.
        • Deep knowledge of and experience in growing brand visibility and achieving business growth through social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
        • A personal and professional knowledge about and interest and experience in small businesses growth is required.
        • A passion and vision for growing diversity in business is required, with a desire to make a nationwide impact in diversity, equity, and inclusion across all business sectors.
        • Strong research and data-informed strategies and decision-making required.
        • Strong leadership skills and experience required, and management experience preferred.
        • Strong collaboration/cooperation skills.
        • Strong oral and written communication skills.
        • Attentive to deadlines and detail.
        • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
