Leading at the intersection of passion and purpose, Marisa C. Williams sees her leadership post as Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts River Valleys as ‘a divine assignment.’ A self-described non-traditional Girl Scout, Marisa isn’t afraid to go against the grain, embrace failure as part of the process, and pursue unconventional opportunities and paths toward success. Prior to joining Girl Scouts River Valleys, Marisa held roles as Chief Executive Officer of HEARTH Pittsburgh and Regional Executive Director of YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. She has also served on the board of Imani Christian Academy and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, both based in her Pittsburgh, PA. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and Executive Leadership certificate from Carnegie Mellon University and is actively involved in her local chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Investing in people is at the heart of Marisa’s leadership philosophy, from supporting the whole wellbeing of staff to bringing more Girl Scout voices to decision-making tables. With a talent for complex problem-solving and growing organizational relevance, Marisa hopes to create more opportunities for people who have been historically marginalized and silenced, while inspiring this generation of Girl Scouts to celebrate difference in all its many forms. Marisa is quickly getting involved in the Twin Cities community; she recognizes her responsibility and is passionate about serving the community where she works, and lives. Originally from Media, PA, Marisa is a proud alum of the University of Pittsburgh and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She recently relocated to Minnesota with her husband Eugene and her son Eugene D. Williams IV.
