Meet Heidi Heiland

Chief Experience Officer (CEO) Heidi Heiland has been diligently managing and artfully expanding her landscape gardening company, Heidi’s Lifestyle Gardens (HLG), since 1979. With the help of her expert team, she creates award-winning ecoscapes and nourishing encounters with nature for her customers by bringing them holistic consultation, design, installation, and site management. HLG is sought for its ability to collaborate, inform and propose innovative opportunities for connection with the earth by using water-wise approaches and slow food sustainability. In 2016, she planted roots in Heidi’s GrowHaus, a garden center in Corcoran, MN. The GrowHaus is a five-and-a-half-acre campus where she and her team grow thoughtfully-selected annuals, perennials, herbs, veggies, shrubs, evergreens, fruit trees, and more to supply fine gardening clients and retail customers.

After graduating from the Constance Spry Flower School in England, Heidi continued her education and became a Certified Professional through the Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association (MNLA) of which she is the past President. Beyond these credentials, Heidi holds a certificate in Horticultural Therapy through Colorado State University, has her PDC for Permaculture Design, and is a Professional Master Gardener. Her prowess as a gardening professional led her to serve as President of the Wayzata Garden Club and become actively involved with the Lake Minnetonka Garden Club. In the spring of 2016, she acquired a retail garden center and growing nursery on a 5-acre campus in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities, GrowHaus. Her community outreach is tireless as she frequently presents seminars to students, colleagues, and passionate plant people of the green industry. Her home gardens have received awards from the Perennial Plant Association and recognition from the Garden Club of America. Many magazines highlight her outdoor spaces and philosophy, including Better Homes & Gardens, Horticulture, and Northern Green. For a decade, Heidi presented monthly segments on the local MN NBC affiliate, Kare 11’s EarthKare. She was recently inducted into the MNLA Hall of Fame for making a difference in the green industry

Heidi is happily married and has 3 adult kids, 3 grandkids, a golden retriever dog named Dandelion, and a rescued cat named Clover.
