For Heidi Humphrey, supporting TeamWomen has always been more than a donation.
Her commitment is rooted in something deeper than philanthropy; it’s about creating a lasting impact for women and girls for generations to come.
It was 2017 when Heidi first walked into a TeamWomen event. It was TeamWomen’s Annual Leadership Conference. She immediately sensed that something was different.
There was a pulse to the group. An electricity. It wasn’t something she’d experienced at other professional events.
“It wasn’t just for business owners or one industry. It was for all women of all ages who wanted support in their efforts to become the best version of themselves,” Heidi told TeamWomen.
That event was a spark that ignited an enduring and meaningful relationship between Heidi and the TeamWomen organization which includes her service as a board member, a leader and organizer of the annual leadership conference, and eventually, a recurring donor.
But for Heidi, the reasons for giving back are more than professional networking or career development.
It’s personal.
Heidi’s past is punctuated with strong, trailblazing women.
Her mother was the first female president of the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce (now the Minneapolis Regional Chamber). Her great-aunt marched alongside leaders of the women’s movement. Supporting and empowering women is part of her family’s DNA, and that legacy continues today through her daughters and her commitment to TeamWomen.
“My belief has always been that an investment in a woman is an investment with the highest return,” Heidi says. “Whether it’s a woman making baskets in a developing country or a young woman in Minnesota finding her voice—when you help one woman rise, she brings others with her.”
That belief is exactly why Heidi became a recurring donor.
“I realized it wasn’t about making one big donation or showing up once a year,” she shares. “It’s about sustainability. It’s about making sure TeamWomen continues to exist—not just for me, but for my daughters, for the next generation, and for all the women who need this community.”
For Heidi, being a recurring donor is a simple, practical way to keep that momentum going.
And while the monthly donation might seem small on the surface, the ripple effects are anything but.
“The world feels fragile right now. We can’t fix everything, but we can choose something that matters deeply to us and invest in it.”
For her, it’s TeamWomen.
TeamWomen is a place where women show up for each other, where mentorship, leadership, and empowerment aren’t just buzzwords, but a way of life.
Heidi’s journey is proof that when you engage, you don’t just give. You also receive.
The friendships, the mentoring relationships, the opportunity to watch young women find their voices and grow into leaders—that’s the return on investment.
“You think you’re making a donation, but the truth is, you end up getting more than you give,” Heidi says. “You realize you’re part of a bigger story, one that’s shaping futures.”
That’s exactly what your recurring gift can do. It keeps the mission alive. It ensures that when one woman rises, we all rise.
