Julieta Piox: Leading the Charge

Julieta Piox is a force to be reckoned with.

After an impressive 24 years in corporate America, Julieta knew change was coming.

“I felt a calling for something more,” she told TeamWomen.

So she found it.

Julieta transitioned from her corporate job to full-time entrepreneurship as a leadership coach and speaker, dedicated to empowering women—entrepreneurs, professionals, and particularly those in the BIPOC community.

Along the way, what she found and now continues to nurture is a community of like-minded women looking to grow, support each other, and make a meaningful impact.

Though Julieta is a strong Latina woman, she said she wasn’t looking for a BIPOC-specific group; she was simply looking for strong leadership.

But then she found TeamWomen.

After attending her first few events and leadership conference with a group of women diverse in age, race, and background, Julieta quickly realized that TeamWomen was more than just a networking opportunity.

“TeamWomen is about creating lasting relationships and embedding oneself in a mission that truly matters,” she said.

As she became more involved in TeamWomen, Julieta started to see a lot of needs within her own community.

Julieta told TeamWomen that many Latina women gravitate toward her, because of their shared culture.

“There’s this unspoken understanding, this shared experience. But there’s some resistance that comes up a lot in coaching. In our culture, coaching is often misunderstood or simply not discussed. There’s a long-standing belief that personal or professional struggles should be handled privately within the family,” she said.

For so many, seeking help, whether through coaching or therapy, carries a stigma.

“That’s why I have made it my mission to change this narrative,” Julieta said. “Coaching is not a sign of weakness—it’s a tool for growth, clarity, and empowerment. You don’t have to do it alone.”

Yet for the longest time, she thought she did.

As a Latina in corporate America, Julieta falsely believed she had to figure everything out by herself and that asking for help was a sign of weakness. So that’s what she did.

For more than two decades, Julieta kept her head down, worked hard, and waited for someone to recognize her efforts

But leadership is not just about working hard; it’s about learning how to navigate challenges, build relationships, and take charge of your own success.

“The truth is, support is out there,” she told TeamWomen. “Women and men want to help. They want to offer guidance,” Julieta said. “Coaching is powerful. And for women, especially in leadership and business, it can be a game-changer. There is another way. You don’t have to go it alone.”

Thanks to her own experiences and training—including a coaching certification with John Maxwell—Julieta now teaches other women how to lead with confidence and break through cultural barriers that may be holding them back.

And through it all, TeamWomen and Julieta have been an unstoppable force for good.

Two years ago, Julieta was honored to join the Executive Board. In July, she’ll step into the role of Board Chair and continue to nurture the diverse community she’s helped foster over the years.

“What makes TeamWomen truly special is its commitment to diversity—not just in words, but in action, Julieta said.

TeamWomen brings together women from all backgrounds, industries, and countries of origin, including Guatemala, Mexico, and Puerto Rico to name a few. This diversity enriches the organization, fostering learning and collaboration beyond TeamWomen’s immediate community in Minnesota.

Julieta has introduced many Latina women to TeamWomen, and the response has been incredible. These women attend events, form business partnerships, and become actively engaged.

One powerful example of TeamWomen in action blossomed from one of Julieta’s invitations.

She brought a friend and client who owned a thriving business in the cleaning industry to an Empower Gala event. The friend was so inspired that she began networking, and through TeamWomen, she connected with a PR professional who later became a business partner.

“This is the magic of TeamWomen—organic connections that lead to real opportunities.”

It’s what TeamWomen is all about. It’s about showing up as your authentic self and knowing that you have a community that believes in your potential, Julieta said.

“Whether you are a Latina entrepreneur, a corporate professional, or a woman seeking leadership growth, there is a place for you here. As we build this community together, we create opportunities for each other—proving that leadership is not about going it alone but rising together.”

Julieta’s invitation to the Latina community and all women is simple.

“Join us at TeamWomen events. Experience the power of this community, forge meaningful connections, and step into the leadership journey you deserve. Together, we are shaping the future—one empowered woman at a time.”
