Margot McManus believes in people.
Just look at her impressive career in HR and leadership roles, including Chief People Officer, most recently at Braun Intertec Corporation, where her passion for developing people, mentoring, and building strong organizational cultures was always front and center.
Perhaps this is why TeamWomen was such a natural fit for Margot.
TeamWomen believes in people.
In 2017, Margot began attending events, then sponsoring tables, and eventually advocating for her company to become a corporate sponsor.
“This is really silly,” Margot remembers thinking at the time. The benefits of TeamWomen have always been crystal clear to her. “We should just be a sponsor! ”
So she did.
TeamWomen fills my cup,” Margot said. “Especially sponsorship.”
Sponsorship, she explains, isn’t just about writing a check; it’s about creating a vehicle for a company to give its people an opportunity to connect, learn, and lead.
TeamWomen makes it easy for corporations to support their employees’ growth while strengthening their own culture.
“There’s a bottom-line benefit to engagement,” she said.
In fact, there’s a sevenfold increase in profitability when employee engagement rises in leadership development through various organizations like TeamWomen.
Investing in development through sponsorships, donations, and encouraging participation translates into stronger leadership, better collaboration, and a more resilient business.
For Margot, what sets TeamWomen apart is its commitment to telling women’s stories and providing platforms for authentic connection. She’s seen firsthand how the Annual Conference creates meaningful relationships, where women can truly hear and see one another.
TeamWomen’s multiple monthly professional development events, including its Power Luncheons, financial education sessions, networking breakfasts, and book clubs, spark conversations that go beyond professional development to touch on what really matters: the human skills that drive business—collaboration, empathy, and inclusion.
Her favorite initiative, however, is the Mentoring Program, which she now chairs.
“Mentoring helps both sides,” she said. “We don’t just network, we connect.”
One of her favorite examples of the symbiotic nature of TeamWomen’s Mentor Program is of a woman transitioning out of corporate life and into entrepreneurship who was paired with a young digital marketer just starting her career.
Together, they learned from each other, creating a beautiful example of mutual mentorship. Both women were able to share their skills and expertise to enrich the lives of the other.
For Margot, it comes down to this simple question: Why not?
Why not sponsor an organization that trains, mentors, and connects women at every stage of their journey?
Why not donate to help underserved communities?
Why not invest in a network that creates an impact at home, at work, and across the broader community?
“There’s something here for everyone,” Margot said. “Whether you’re a young mom who prefers a lunch event, a remote worker looking for connections, an entrepreneur building a business, or a corporate leader developing your team, TeamWomen meets you where you are.”
Why not join TeamWomen? Why not sponsor? Why not show up?
“Feeling the energy of some 600+ women in TeamWomen is powerful. And then the real magic is in how these women carry that energy forward,” Margot said. “TeamWomen leads with love and the members harness that love to support their careers and their futures.”
We rise by lifting others.
