Power Luncheon: When Nothing is Certain, Anything is Possible. A Story of Grit and Determination in Uncertain Times.
February 13 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm CST - $50 – $75
From Wealth to Well-Being: How Impact Investors Can Change Our Landscape, Our Culture, and How We Live
(The story of Heidi Zimmer and Katherine Hayes—and the birth of Wild Rice Retreat)
Join TeamWomen on Thursday, February 13, for an inspiring conversation about vision, courage, and purpose. Featuring Heidi Zimmer, Founder of Wild Rice Retreat, and Katherine Hayes, Founder of In Her Interest, LLC, this Power Luncheon explores how two women from different paths came together to build something extraordinary. Belinda Jensen, Chief Meteorologist from KARE11 will join us to moderate this conversation.
Heidi, a trailblazer in real estate development, had a vision to create an intentional, nature-based retreat that redefines wellness tourism. Katherine, an impact investor and wealth management disruptor, believed in that vision—and in the power of aligning financial capital with human potential.
Together, they’ll share the story behind the creation of Wild Rice Retreat—how it began, what it took to make it real, and why the future of well-being depends on visionary women and values-based investment.
Through their stories, attendees will learn:
- How impact investors can help bring bold ideas to life
- Why it is never too late to pivot your career and pursue purpose
- What it means to redefine success through collaboration, risk-taking, and trust
- Why we need more women in real estate and finance, shaping the future of our communities
This conversation is more than a business story—it’s a celebration of resilience, partnership, and the belief that when nothing is certain, anything is possible.
Online Registration Closes on February 11, 2026.
About the Speakers

Heidi Zimmer is a creative entrepreneur and leader in real estate development. As the founder of the three-time Condé Nast award-winning Wild Rice Retreat, she has transformed 114 acres along Lake Superior into a destination that blends sustainability, architecture, and holistic wellness. A certified yoga instructor and 2023 TeamWomen WaveMaker Award recipient for “Pioneer in Her Field,” Heidi previously served as Senior VP of Real Estate at Artspace Projects, where she helped develop over 1,000 units of artist live/work housing nationwide. She’s now leading a $30 million expansion of Wild Rice Retreat anchored by the Forest Waters Sanctuary & Spa.

A lifelong learner and disruptor, Katherine Hayes has spent her career redefining what wealth can do. After decades helping lead her family’s investment partnerships and foundation, she made the bold choice to divest her interests and start In Her Interest, LLC, an initiative empowering women inheritors of wealth to redistribute financial capital and challenge traditional wealth protection models. Katherine also owns Queen’s View, a Bayfield B&B honoring her mother’s legacy of generosity. Her story, featured in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, is a call to courage, compassion, and conscious leadership.

Belinda Jensen has been the Chief Meteorologist at KARE 11 for 30 years. She obtained her AMS Seal of Approval for broadcast meteorology. She has worked for the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City along with the ABC affiliate KTVX in Salt Lake City. When she was a kid, she worked at McDonald’s, Afton Alps and Red Lobster! She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology.
She has also done graduate work in secondary education through the University of Utah. She enjoys serving her community through involvement in the schools, trying to involve students, particularly girls, in science.
She has also become an author, authoring six children’s books about becoming weather savvy and helping kids with weather anxiety.
