Join us for our Virtual TeamWomen Talks, a livestream to stay connected, gain perspective, and lift each other up! This will be a FREE 45-minute virtual talk with Erica Dvorak, Chief of Staff at Checkable Medical, and Brittany McNicholas, Digital Marketing Specialist at Limelight Marketing Systems. Both young professionals will talk about their time of graduating during the last recession, internships, jobs that weren’t a good fit, building their career, and the big changes they’ve both had recently. Please consider supporting us by making a donation.

Attendees will learn the big 3 things that helped Erica and Brittany during a time of change and uncertainty:

  1. Networking/Community Involvement
  2. Your Brand (work ethic, attitude, how you present yourself)
  3. Take Chances

She is currently serving on the Corporate and Community Advisory Council for M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. Erica’s firm belief is that everyone should find something they are passionate about and GIVE with your skills, time and resources.

Brittany McNicholas

What do you do when you love design? You jump in feet first and experience as much as you can!

That is what Brittany did when she moved to New York City at 17 to study at Parsons School of Design. The first year of art school cultivated her mind as a designer, exposing her to a plethora of design fields. Ultimately choosing to study Fashion Design, she knew graphic design would always be a constant in her life. In 2008, Brittany graduated during the height of the recession, and although her career didn’t start when she planned or the way she planned, all of the connections and steps led to her dream job.

During Brittany’s 11 years in the fashion industry, she designed thousands of accessories from concept to end product while leveraging cross-functional partnerships, building relationships with vendors, and managing overseas communications. While Brittany has always been typically type A, her years in fashion exposed a penchant for efficient processes and empower-driven leadership. Always found working on small teams with an immense level of responsibility, Brittany focused on methods that maximized the team’s hard work. During these years in fashion, Brittany maintained a steady flow of graphic design clients ranging from lawyers to rock bands with an emphasis on branding, marketing collateral, and image editing.

The sudden loss of her father in 2016 completely changed the trajectory of Brittany’s life. She moved out of New York City to focus on different aspects of life. Stars aligned with her move to Minneapolis, where she connected with a digital marketing agency, Limelight Marketing Systems. Focusing on strategy and social media, Brittany found her true calling combining all of her favorite things: design, human interaction, strategy, analytics, and fun!

Through all of the changes, phases, and seasons of life, design has been the constant in Brittany’s life. But dreams evolve. Brittany transitioned out of fashion and founded Aritiem in late 2019…just in time for the next recession.
