The Software Systems Analyst role will join our Global Quality Systems team. This role will be essential to quality control and compliance for Nextern and our customers. The Software Systems Analyst will be key in the administration, configuration management, and structure of our business processes from a quality perspective. This position will help in the continuous improvement and compliance across our Global site locations and between our International team of employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality System Configuration Management: Our quality software system requires and offers the flexibility for workflows and interface screens to be customized for specific business needs. This role must be proficient at defining common, scalable configurations of systems to enable employee efficiency in system interaction and training effectiveness.
  • Software System Validation: Compliance & assurance of data accuracy/authentication within our business systems is essential to our business. All enterprise software systems at Nextern require validation.
  • IT Support & User Enablement: Essentially all Nextern employees interface with an enterprise software system. This role is key in helping to define hardware requirements for our employees and assuring employees are properly supported and trained to interact with our enterprise systems. This role is also essential in collaborating with our IT and server maintenance teams to assure our systems meet the needs of our users across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent program from a four-year college or university, with with relevant work experience within a regulated industry, such as medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive, telecommunications required.
  • Experience in writing and executing software test cases for the purpose of validation.
  • Experience in software configuration management.
  • Experience documenting process maps and/or flowcharts to assure relationships and dependencies are properly designed
  • Experience translating business process needs/requirements to functional system processes and workflows.
  • Experience collaborating in the planning, design, execution of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Experience in writing and debugging software code.
  • Preferred industry experience with any of the following types of enterprise software systems:
    • MRP/ERP Systems
    • Enterprise Quality Management Systems
    • Project Management Systems
    • EPDM Systems

The Senior Supply Chain Manager will have ownership over the supply chain team, which is made up of a team of individual contributors who have assigned value stream/ product lines. This role will be responsible for some, or all, or the following supply chain roles: new product launches, product line transfers, end of life (EOL) product life cycle planning, purchasing, production scheduling, and inventory management. This role will also be responsible for managing people, processes, systems and metrics to scorecard our performance in these areas.

We are looking for a high impact, driven individual who can adhere to Nextern’s principles and all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountability

  • Provides leadership and partners with key stakeholders within the manufacturing teams to drive process improvement and meet business demands in some or all of the following functions: new product launches, product line transfers, purchasing, production scheduling, inventory management, customer service, supply chain systems.
  • Manages metrics for the Supply Chain organization to measure success in each sub-discipline within Supply Chain. Shares results with key stakeholders.
  • Develops, presents, obtains buy-in and implements action plans based on metric results.
  • Works with manufacturing site and functional leaders to recommend annual operating plans.
  • Prepares inventory and cost forecasts and budget recommendations for manager
  • Creates action plans from new product core team meetings and manages implementation and execution of action plans.
  • Provides leadership to teams through setting goals which align to the team’s annual plans. Manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring.
  • Develops a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, cross functional collaboration and goal planning and execution.
  • Removes obstacles and implements practices which ensure customers receive product in a timely manner using cost efficient processes (workforce planning,
    inventory management, purchasing, systems utilization).
  • Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Maintains a safe and professional work environment.
  • Travel for position up to 10%.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent.
  • 8+ plus years of progressively more responsible work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience at a supervisory/managerial level.

As part of a multidisciplinary product development and manufacturing engineering team the Principal Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical support and expertise in the definition, design, development, and testing of a wide variety of projects in the field of Medical Devices. This role includes collaborating with and advising engineers and designers from client companies.

Additional duties and responsibilities for the Principal Mechanical Engineer role:

  • Work as a key part of the product realization team, establishing technical approach, evaluating risk and providing mechanical engineering solutions that meet or exceed the established product requirements.
  • Provide working direction to other members of the engineering staff and development teams.
  • Provide project management direction.
  • Review and select materials, finishes and manufacturing methods for plastics, metals, and/or components.
  • Work with regulatory and program management staff to ensure mechanical engineering and design meets government regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineering and design to specify and create electro-mechanical parts, assemblies and products as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with clients and mechanical designers to specify and/or review mechanical drawings and assemblies for accuracy, cost management and manufacturability. Work with mechanical designers and outside suppliers to create, modify, and assess part and/or product prototypes.
  • Review proposed manufacturing processes, dies and tooling to ensure efficient, accurate and cost-effective production of parts and products.
  • Prepare and execute design verification tests ensuring product requirements have been fulfilled by execution of the technical approach.
  • Research and evaluate materials, components, assemblies, manufacturing procedures & processes and/or equipment.
  • Lead design reviews, ensuring product requirements are met, engineering intent is maintained, and risks are mitigated prior to release for tooling and
    production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus
  • Thirteen or more years of experience, preferably in the Medical Device field.
  • Strong design and manufacturing knowledge of plastics (extrusions, injection molding and/or precision parts), stamping, casting and/or sheet metal fabrication and/or: Experience in the design and development of interventional catheters.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with, support and direct mechanical design, review CAD models, part drawings and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability. Willingness to work with electronic document and project management systems to track work product, deliverables and progress.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide complete and accurate work product; material selection, designs, drawings and other documents that accurately reflect
    product requirements and transition smoothly into production.
